Katinka Melichar and Christoph Ortmann from CaderaDesign will be speaking together at MedConf. In their talk, “Design for Elderlies, Design for Everyone – UX Learnings from the Hospital”, they will use the patient-facing terminal “Cockpit” as an example to demonstrate why Human-Centred UX in medical technology goes far beyond good interface design. The presentation explores how targeted user research, accessible interface design, and clear UX writing can improve the usability, acceptance, and safety of digital healthcare solutions.

In their joint presentation ‘Human-centred AI in medical technology - transparency creates trust ’, they will show why Explainable AI (XAI) is a key factor for acceptance, trust and safety - and how user experience helps to make complex AI decisions understandable and comprehensible.

Digital transformation in industry means more than just technology and automation - it fundamentally changes how people interact with machines, data and processes. Our colleague Elisabeth spent a month volunteering on Lesbos and gained valuable experience, which she shared with us. At CaderaDesign, sustainability, also in social matters, is particularly important to us, so it was a matter of course for us to enable her to spend her free time doing charitable work. Her work was done through Eurorelief, a Greek NGO that has been active internationally since 2005. We asked her a few questions about her experiences because we were impressed by her commitment and would like to share the interview - perhaps someone will be inspired by it and want to become active too.

How can design projects be financed through clever manufacturing savings and strengthen the brand at the same time? Our article shows how designers can not only improve product quality, but also make production more cost-efficient and increase profits. A look behind the scenes shows how even small decisions can have a big impact. Because good design means

Our colleague David Sauer will be a speaker at the VDMA Practical Day "AI in Mechanical and Plant Engineering" on June 12, 2024 in Frankfurt am Main. The presentation will highlight the importance of Explainable AI (XAI), i.e. the goal of opening up previous "AI black boxes" and making them transparent for users. David's contribution promises to provide an important impetus in the application of "human-centered" AI - a topic that has recently gained significant relevance with the adoption of the AI Act. The VDMA Practical Day is aimed at machine and plant manufacturers and offers a good opportunity to discuss current AI developments in the industry.

Cheers to 30 years! Dr. Sascha Genders, CEO of the Würzburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), presented us with a certificate for our 30-year anniversary and raised a glass of champagne with us to celebrate this event.

What started at the dining table has grown into a company with 25 permanent and many freelance employees. Without the commitment of our great team, this success story would not have been possible. We would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts who has supported us along the way, first and foremost our customers who have placed their trust in us - some for more than two decades!

Meet Stella, our Feelgood Manager

"CaderaDesign has been growing continuously over the past few years. My position was created so I can be there for all team members and ensure everyone enjoys working here," says Stella.

She mediates on a wide variety of issues, provides healthy snacks in the office, organises yoga classes and ensures ergonomic workstations. She also organises team supervisions, one-on-one coaching sessions and team events.

COVID-19 has changed Stella’s work and she now also focuses on supporting employees working from home and on promoting resilience. Her work also contributes to our corporate social responsibility, strengthening our sustainability efforts.

Tom Cadera and Florian Fuchs reflected on the successful cooperation with the Strama Group last week on site in Straubing. During a factory tour, the jointly developed HMI was seen in action. Tom Cadera also gave a keynote speech on the opportunities of UX design in mechanical engineering.
Strama-MPS develops machines, special systems and complete solutions for the production, assembly and testing of technical components and products. In a process based on partnership, a user-friendly HMI was developed for employees and customers.

We are celebrating 30 years of CaderaDesign and would like to thank our partners and clients for the interest in our work, the exciting commissions and cooperations as well as the trusting collaboration - perhaps even over thirty years. We are proud to have served numerous medium-sized companies as well as large corporations over the years. We have also pursued our two mainstays, user interface design and industrial design, from the very beginning and have always developed them further.

An overall user experience of products that combines user interface and industrial design will continue to be an important focus for us in the future. We are also increasingly concerned with the issue of sustainability and the possibility of involving ourselves not only in technological progress, but also in society. We want to continue to design ergonomic workplaces that are a pleasure to work in and make the added value of design tangible, tangible and also measurable, above all for users in industry.
